Roadtrip 2016 Fall: Vancouver - Yakima - Bend - John Day River - Port Orford - Florence - Seaside - Vancouver

Day 37 - Calistoga, St. Helena and surrounds

Here in Calistoga, it's a balmy 23C blue domer. Back in Port Orford, it's another wild Pacific storm. We're watching the radar showing the storm from our sunny perch. No hurry to go back.

Our new coffee perch - on a little side-street.

Wendy fetches the morning coffee.

Hard to argue with the Yo El Ray mantra.

This young man is showing off his fully restored prototype Volkshammerbangingschtuperwagon. It was Hitler's last and greatest super-weapon, which fortunately never made it to the battlefield. Apparently, it failed some kind of emissions test, rendering it useless.

Down the street, the world's fastest trailer. It recently clocked Mach 1.127 at the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Absolutely no need to send those old pick up tail gates to the junk heap.

This could only happen in California.

In Calistoga it's not even considered super natural- just turn gas to wine.

After coffee, lunch and iced tea - we take a spin through the local backcountry vineyards. It's a tough day.

Grand old Napa beauty.

The xmas lights are lit.
